Naukri Resume Score and ATS Checker: What It Really Means

Naukri and ATS guideFor Indian job seekers

There is no single public “Naukri ATS score” that recruiters use to rank you. What job seekers call a Naukri resume score is usually one of four different things, and only some of them say anything about how your resume reads to software.

Quick answer: Naukri shows candidates profile-level signals (how complete your profile is and how often it appears in recruiter searches). The Naukri group has also offered resume evaluation tools and paid resume services. Employers use Naukri RMS and other applicant tracking systems internally, but you do not see a score from them. To check how your resume parses and matches a job, test it yourself with an ATS checker and the manual checks below.

Does Naukri have an ATS score?

Not in the way most people imagine. An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software employers use to collect applications, parse resumes into structured data and help recruiters search and shortlist. Naukri provides recruiter-side tools for this, including its recruitment management system (Naukri RMS) and the Resdex resume database, where recruiters search candidates by keywords such as skills, designations and companies.

Those tools sit on the employer’s side. Naukri does not show candidates a universal ATS score that decides who gets shortlisted, and recruiters do not all use the same scoring logic. Our Naukri RMS and Resdex guide explains how applications and recruiter search work in more detail.

Be careful with “guaranteed score” claims. Any tool promising that a particular score will get you shortlisted on Naukri is overstating what it can know. Scores from different tools are not comparable to each other or to what an employer’s system does.

The 4 things people call a “Naukri resume score”

What it is Where you see it What it actually measures What it does not tell you
Profile completeness Your Naukri profile, as a percentage or list of missing sections Whether key sections (headline, key skills, employment, education, resume) are filled Whether your content is good or matches a job
Profile performance Naukri dashboard or app (for example, search appearances and recruiter actions) How often recruiters found or interacted with your profile Why, or how your resume parses
Naukri resume evaluation tools and services Naukri campus pages (a free resume evaluation on Firstnaukri) and paid Naukri FastForward resume services A review of skills, experience and formatting, sometimes with expert advice Any specific employer’s shortlisting decision
Third-party ATS checkers Independent tools such as GradVix Parsing, structure and keyword match against a job description An official Naukri or employer score

What a resume score can actually tell you

A useful ATS-style check answers three practical questions:

  1. Can software read it? Are your name, contact details, job titles, dates, education and skills extracted correctly, or lost in tables, columns, images and headers?
  2. Does it match the job? Does the resume contain the skills, tools and role terms the job description asks for, using standard names?
  3. Is it clear to a human? Are achievements specific, dates consistent and sections easy to scan in under a minute?

A score is a summary of those checks. The individual issues it flags matter far more than the number. Read our ATS checker testing methodology to see how checkers can differ, and how to compare ATS resume checkers in India.

What is a good ATS or resume score?

There is no universal pass mark. Each tool calculates its own number, often on a 0 to 100 scale, so a 75 in one tool may equal an 85 in another. Use scores this way:

Situation What to do
Low score with parsing errors (missing name, dates, job titles) Fix formatting first. Nothing else matters until the resume parses cleanly.
Parses cleanly but keyword match is low Add the job’s genuine required skills and role terms where they truly apply to you.
Middling score (for example 70 to 80) with no major issues flagged Focus on stronger achievement bullets and closer role alignment rather than chasing points.
High score but no interview calls Check eligibility, location, notice period, salary fit and your Naukri profile signals, not just the resume.
Moving from 75 to 90: in most cases the gap closes by fixing a few specific items, such as an unreadable two-column layout, a missing skills section, non-standard section headings or skills from the job description that you have but did not mention.

How to check your resume yourself in 10 minutes

  1. Copy-paste test. Open your PDF, select all text and paste it into a plain text editor. If the order is jumbled or text is missing, an ATS may struggle too.
  2. Check the file. Use a text-based PDF or DOCX, not a scanned image. Keep the file name professional, such as Firstname-Lastname-Data-Analyst.pdf.
  3. Use standard headings. Summary, Skills, Experience, Projects, Education, Certifications.
  4. Avoid layout traps. No text inside images, icons or text boxes. Use one column for the main content.
  5. Match job terms honestly. Compare the job description’s required skills with your resume and add only those you genuinely have.
  6. Check consistency. Job titles, dates and skills should match your Naukri profile.
  7. Run an ATS checker. Use a checker with the actual job description to catch what you missed.

How to improve your resume score

Issue flagged Fix
Contact details not detected Put name, phone, email and city in plain text at the top, not in the document header or an image
Experience dates not parsed Use a consistent format such as “Jan 2023 – Present” on the same line as the job title
Skills section missing or weak Add a clear Skills section with standard tool and method names
Missing job keywords Add required skills you genuinely have, in context within your experience bullets
Two-column or graphic template Switch to a single-column ATS-friendly template
Vague bullets Rewrite as action + task + result, with numbers where you can verify them
Resume and Naukri profile disagree Align titles, dates and skills in both
